Last Official Day of School

Hello Everybody!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter with lots of sunshine and mountains of chocolate. Some exciting things are happening this year, one of which happened two days ago - I finished my last ever day of school!! 14 years on and here we are. My school has a wonderful tradition of allowing the graduating class to come in during the night and decorate the school ahead of all the rest of the students/staff arriving in the morning. We then have brunch, and then a water fight versus the teachers and the grade below. I think the pictures should explain it all a little better…

And because I am a pea-head who can't seem to do anything right, I not only forgot to bring my camera that day, I also forgot to bring my phone charger, and decided that lighting and taking pictures with the front camera wouldn't matter…….stupid. So I apologize for the horrible lighting, grainy-ness and overall bad resolution of many of these pictures. The ones which are still decent, I have borrowed off some lovely people so all credit goes to them.

Lots of love,

Easter Treats

Hello Everybody!

So since it's Easter (or the Easter period rather) I decided it would be a nice time to make some chocolate Easter treats. These are made with rice-crispies (or can also be made with any simple cereal you fancy really) and are super easy to make!

What you need:
- 1 box of simple cereal (Rice-crispies or regular Kellogs are perfect)
- 2 to 3 bars of cooking chocolate
- Cupcake moulds (preferably ones with pretty patters on them)
- 1 mixing bowl - make sure bowl can be placed on heat.
- 1 larger mixing bowl/pan - make sure this bowl can be placed on heat and that it is bigger than the other mixing bowl, as that one will be placed into this one.
- 1 wooden spoon
- 1 pack Cadbury's Creme Eggs
- Kettle (optional)
- Cupcake baking tray (optional)

What you have to do:

1. Fill the kettle with plain tap water and set it to boil (this step is optional - but makes melting the chocolate faster)

2. Line up the cupcake moulds on to a cupcake baking tray. If you don't have a cupcake baking tray, just line up the cupcake moulds on a flat surface .

3. Next, once the water is boiled, pour it into the larger mixing bowl and place it on the stove at a low heat, this will keep the already heated water, heated throughout. At this point, rather than using a kettle to heat up the water already, you can just fill the larger mixing bowl with plain tap water and then set it on the stove to begin heating.

4. Place the smaller mixing bowl into the water in the large mixing bowl. This will allow the chocolate to melt without getting early burnt and sticking to the bottom.

5. Using about 2/3 (and put the other 1/3 aside for later use) of the chocolate, break the cooking chocolate into pieces and gradually add them into the small mixing bowl, whilst stiring the mixture with the wooden spoon and continue to do so until all the chocolate is a thick liquid.

6. Add in the amount of rice-crispies/ cereal you feel you need. To make about 12 servings, you need approximately 1/3 of the box.

7. Using the spoon stir the rice-crispies into the chocolate until all the rice-crispies are covered.

8. Then spoon out small dollops of the chocolate rice-crispie mixture and place them into the cupcake moulds.

9. Once you have finished filling all the moulds, take the 1/3 of cooking chocolate and melt that in the same hw you did before.

10. Once the chocolate is melted, dip one end of the Cabury's creme eggs into the chocolate and then place them onto your chocolate rice-crispie "nests". The chocolate on the end of the eggs should act like a glue to attach the eggs to the nest.

11. Put the chocolate rice-crispie nests into the freezer to set for 2-3 hours.

12. After 2-3 hours, take them out of the freezer and leave them in the fridge to set overnight.

13. Take them out and they're ready to serve.

Hope you found this recipie useful! If you did, please let me know and share your chocolate Easter nests with me on Instagram by tagging me in your photos. My Instagram name is @mihikadeb.

Happy Easter!!

Quick UK Getaway

Hello Everybody!

As some of you may know, I am currently in the process of making a decision of what university I want to go to next year. So to help me make my choice, I decided to take a quick trip to the UK to go and see the univiersities and their surroundings. I will be doing a longer "talky-ish" blogpost about it, where I share my first experiences of the universities, and try to formulate the whole "going to university" experience as best as I can. In the meanwhile, in no particular order, enjoy these little UK snapshots :)

Lots of  love,

Exciting News.....And Get To Know Me A Little Better

Hello Everybody!

Yesterday morning I woke up to some very exciting news.. I was added to the "Top Student Bloggers" list, by Student World Online!! Literally one of the biggest International blogger accounts there is!!!
It is such a massive honour to be even considered to be on any of their lists, and to be put on "Top Student Bloggers" is even more surreal! I haven't yet quite comprehended that it's happened. It's just such a massive blessing.
I want to hug and thank each and everyone of you. Whether you are old dedicated readers, or whether you are newbies who are stopping by for the first time, just by clicking on my URL, and letting your nearest and dearest know about this page, is what gets me to where I am right now. So thank you!
Some time ago on Twitter, I asked you guys to send me any questions you had. It could be anything from about me, to beauty, to reviews, to literally what ever you wanted to know. You guys...haha I don't know how you continue to amaze me - my phone stopped loading because your questions kept flooding in onto my lock screen! I had originally planned to create this post at a later date, but seeing as you readers have been so lovely to me, I figure it's my way of giving back to you, by giving you a little bit more insight into my life.
Sometime ago, I was also tagged in the '20 Questions' tag, so I've decided to incorporate it into one for you.
If you're not into reading about all the personal stuff, and like the beauty stuff instead, then go ahead and skip down to the Beauty/ Buys section, just a bit further down.
Enjoyyyy!

Do you have any siblings?

Si. I have a little brother.

Do you have a middle name?

I REALLY wish I did! But no unfortunately :(

How old are you?

Turned 18 not so long ago.

How tall are you?

Approx. 166cm.

What was your favourite subject at school?

English. Definitely!

What's your favourite colour?

Blue

What's your favourite animal?

Cats. I've had an obsession with them for as long as I can remember.

What's your favourite holiday?

Errrrmm...I have been on so many favourite holidays!! I think most recently, my favourite holiday would be a short trip to London for about 2 nights with my mummy.

Have you graduated High School?

I will hopefully *fingers crossed* graduate in two months time.

Have you been out of the country?

This is a very odd question to me...my first instict would be to reply 'How can one not have been out of the country ever?!'  since I left India when I was only three, and Denmark is so tiny, that you have to holiday out of the country sometimes! So in short, yes I have been out of the country.

Do you speak any other languages?

I speak Danish, Bengali et un petite peu de français (that's my French attempt for you)

What's your favourite restaurant?

I don't have a specific favourite restaurant, but any place that serves up a nice Mediterranean cuisine, is sure to make me happy! Also a good juicy burger is always a plus!

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

This is going to sound really boring, but I just like to spend time to myself a little. I'll usually clean my room, or listen to some relaxing music, just something a little therapeutic. I do still love grabbing a coffee or some lunch with friends, or family and having a nice talk.

Who inspires you?

I'm sure that later on, I'm going to wonder why I didn't mention more people, but right now off the top of my head, the one person I can think of is my cousin sister. She's been an inspiration to me, and I really admire the way she takes pride in almost everything she does. That and the fact she's just a phone call away when I need her to be, is what makes her the one I am inspired by.

What do you value most in life?

There are many things I value and cherish in life. In particular this year, I have tried to focus more on the value of happiness. I have made an attempt to physically take action to remind myself to be happy everyday - I'm  doing this through the 100 day happiness project that I am in the midst of right now, over on my Instagram. You can read a little post I wrote about it here .  I have also since January made myself a little jar, where I keep 'happy memories and experiences' that have happened throughout 2014 in, so that at the end of the year, I can look back on and remind myself of all the things that made me happy in 2014. The exciting news from yesterday morning is definitely going in there!!

What do you do?

I am currently a student, in my second year of the International Baccalaureate and in my final year of high school.

What is your dream job?

My first answer would be a job where I could be snooze all day long, or where I could go shopping. Imagine that! Getting paid for sleeping and shopping!! But more seriously, my dream job would be planning and organising different events for others. I really enjoy watching others be that very distinct type of happy, that happens when their event turns out just the way they imagined. If I can bring someone that happiness through my job, my life will be made. Also, as a sort of side part to my dream job, I really want to make something out of this blog. I enjoy communicating with you all, and allowing myself to reflect in this way, and it would be a dream come true for it to continue as part of my job.

Favourite childhood memory?

I have a distant memory of being taken on walks to the playground, every afternoon, with my nanny in India, and then walking past the market on the way home, and somehow always managing to convince my nanny that I just HAD to have bought for me from the market. This regular routine was one of my favourite times of the day.

Lots of love,
