Easter Treats

Hello Everybody!

So since it's Easter (or the Easter period rather) I decided it would be a nice time to make some chocolate Easter treats. These are made with rice-crispies (or can also be made with any simple cereal you fancy really) and are super easy to make!

What you need:
- 1 box of simple cereal (Rice-crispies or regular Kellogs are perfect)
- 2 to 3 bars of cooking chocolate
- Cupcake moulds (preferably ones with pretty patters on them)
- 1 mixing bowl - make sure bowl can be placed on heat.
- 1 larger mixing bowl/pan - make sure this bowl can be placed on heat and that it is bigger than the other mixing bowl, as that one will be placed into this one.
- 1 wooden spoon
- 1 pack Cadbury's Creme Eggs
- Kettle (optional)
- Cupcake baking tray (optional)

What you have to do:

1. Fill the kettle with plain tap water and set it to boil (this step is optional - but makes melting the chocolate faster)

2. Line up the cupcake moulds on to a cupcake baking tray. If you don't have a cupcake baking tray, just line up the cupcake moulds on a flat surface .

3. Next, once the water is boiled, pour it into the larger mixing bowl and place it on the stove at a low heat, this will keep the already heated water, heated throughout. At this point, rather than using a kettle to heat up the water already, you can just fill the larger mixing bowl with plain tap water and then set it on the stove to begin heating.

4. Place the smaller mixing bowl into the water in the large mixing bowl. This will allow the chocolate to melt without getting early burnt and sticking to the bottom.

5. Using about 2/3 (and put the other 1/3 aside for later use) of the chocolate, break the cooking chocolate into pieces and gradually add them into the small mixing bowl, whilst stiring the mixture with the wooden spoon and continue to do so until all the chocolate is a thick liquid.

6. Add in the amount of rice-crispies/ cereal you feel you need. To make about 12 servings, you need approximately 1/3 of the box.

7. Using the spoon stir the rice-crispies into the chocolate until all the rice-crispies are covered.

8. Then spoon out small dollops of the chocolate rice-crispie mixture and place them into the cupcake moulds.

9. Once you have finished filling all the moulds, take the 1/3 of cooking chocolate and melt that in the same hw you did before.

10. Once the chocolate is melted, dip one end of the Cabury's creme eggs into the chocolate and then place them onto your chocolate rice-crispie "nests". The chocolate on the end of the eggs should act like a glue to attach the eggs to the nest.

11. Put the chocolate rice-crispie nests into the freezer to set for 2-3 hours.

12. After 2-3 hours, take them out of the freezer and leave them in the fridge to set overnight.

13. Take them out and they're ready to serve.
